From the recording A Million Miles
I'M NOT GONNA LEAVE - D
His sandals were frayed & torn.
His feet were dusty & worn.
She fell to her knees & she opened a box,
with no towel, just her tears & her long flowing locks.
As the smell of perfume filled the air.
She wiped his feet clean with her hair.
Not for a minute, a second or two will I leave your feet.
I can't live without you.
I won't let go, I'll never complain.
I won't walk away,
no matter the pain.
With every breath & heart beat.
I'm not gonna leave your feet.
Can you imagine a mother’s thoughts
from a manger to a cross?
Cradling an ageless gift
as his newborn feet she kissed.
O the joy of the dreadful day
When she’d have to give her son away.
Now when my heart
is broken & bruised,
I rest at your feet,
Lord, I look up to you!
I won’t let go, I’ll never complain
I won’t walk away no matter the pain
With every breath and heart beat
I’m not gonna leave your feet.
